Fellow Rotarians,

I can’t thank you enough for your support on Wednesday.  I only came to the meeting this Wednesday because I felt so bad about John and wanted to be there for him and for you.  What I walked away with was the realization that you are not just a club I belong to.  You are “family.”  I can’t thank you enough for you kind words and caring.

We spent 10 hours today (Friday) cleaning out and cataloging the debris from the room that was furthest from the fire.  Multiple families showed up to help in this process.  I sorted the books into categories (teacher manuals, dictionaries, hard back reading books, etc.)  They counted every book, program, video, pencil, pen, etc. so we had an actual record of what was inside of the building.  My insurance adjuster complained because some of the data we provided her was in Spanish.  I told her to “deal with it” or provide a service to do that job.

I walked the Administrative room where the primary fire occurred this afternoon and agreed with the adjuster that we must declare it a “total disaster” and not try to bring out items and catalogue them.   Multiple notebooks are strewn on the floor and are either burned or have severe water damage.  The office housed over 150 videos, 100 plus notebooks of curriculum, policies, procedures, and other items that are required for ADE compliancy that must eventually be restored.

If you are not busy Monday morning, you are invited to our 7:30 assembly.  It will be a short (15 minute) recognition of our community and its many partners.
